SPECIAL CALLED COUNCIL MEETING

October 27, 2005

The City Council of the City of Lanett, Alabama, met in special called meeting on Thursday, October 27, 2005, in the Council Chambers of the Lanett Municipal Complex at 5:00 P.M. The roll was taken and the following were found to be present: Councilmembers Jamie Heard, Kyle McCoy, John Duskin, and Mike Yarbrough. Tony Malone and Mayor Oscar Crawley were absent. Mayor Pro-tem Kyle McCoy was present and presided over the meeting.

The purpose of this meeting was to adopt Resolution 10-05-04 – “Norbord Fire & EMS Contract Renewal”, Ordinance 10-05-04 – “MGAG Contract”, Resolution 10-05-06 – “Mr. Greenjeans Contract Renewal”, Ordinance 10-05-02 – “Authorizing the Conveyance of Certain Land of the City (Phillips Road Land)”, and Resolution 10-05-06 – “Mr. Greenjeans Contract Renewal”.

Councilmember Yarbrough read Resolution 10-05-04 – “Norbord Fire & EMS Contract Renewal”. Councilmember McCoy made a motion to adopt Resolution 10-05-04 –“Norbord Fire & EMS Contract Renewal” Councilmember Duskin seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.

Councilmember Heard read Ordinance 10-05-05 – “MGAG Contract”. Councilmember Heard made the motion to suspend the rules for immediate consideration and vote for Ordinance 10-05-05 – “MGAG Contract” after the first reading. Motion seconded by Councilmember Yarbrough. Roll call vote as follows: Councilmember Duskin – Yea, Councilmember Heard – Yea, Councilmember Yarbrough – Yea, and Mayor Pro-tem McCoy – Yea. Councilmember Yarbrough made a motion to adopt Ordinance 10-05-04. Councilmember Heard seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.

Councilmember Duskin read Ordinance 10-05-02 –“Authorizing the Conveyance of Certain Land of the City (Phillips Road Land)”. Property is to be conveyed to Frank M Lowe, Jr. and Julia M Lowe for $67,100.00. Councilmember Duskin put in a form of a motion to adopt Ordinance 10-05-02 – “Authorizing the Conveyance of Certain Land of the City (Phillips Road Land)”. Councilmember Duskin made a motion to suspend the rules and give immediate consideration to vote for Ordinance 10-05-02 – “Authorizing the Conveyance of Certain Land of the City (Phillips Road Land)”. Councilmember Yarbrough seconded the motion. Roll call as follows: Councilmember Duskin – Yea, Councilmember Heard – Yea, Councilmember Yarbrough – Yea and Mayor Pro-tem McCoy – Yea. Councilmember Duskin made a motion to adopt Ordinance 10-05-02. Councilmember Yarbrough seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.

Councilmember Duskin read Resolution 10-05-06 – “Mr. Greenjeans Contract Renewal”. Councilmember Duskin made a motion to adopt Resolution 10-05-06. Councilmember Yarbrough seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.

There being no further business to come before this Council, motion duly made, meeting adjourned.
